Medical Care Program
Access to medical centers and medicines for people with limited resources is a challenge in Nicaragua. Although health services and government hospitals are free. In many cases the medicines needed by some people are not approved to be given for free. This is the reason why HTHF makes medicine accessible to those who are not able to obtain it for free.
There are doctors that provide medical consultation for poor people at the different locations where the Franciscans Sisters operate. HTHF partially supports the salary of the doctors and facilitates the purchase of medicines for the sector of the population we are working for and do not have access to medical assistance.
